Greetings fellow members of the Steemit Community.
I am writing to you because I have recently become aware of an inherent flaw in the steemit ecosystem.
This flaw is - time based restriction.
I have noticed that there is an inability to edit posts - even if there is a need to - after a certain period of time has passed.
I have also noticed that there is a similar inability to vote or comment after a certain period of time has passed.
My opinion is that this should be changed for the following reasons;
1; Time should not restrict the block chain.
The block chain is supposed to be a tool used to liberate humanity through decentralizing ecosystems and technology.
Yet if it is a tool of liberation, why should the Steem block chain restrict via time in such a way?
2 ; We are Humans - we make mis-takes.
Since each one of us are not absolute perfection, but humans with the ability to make mis-takes, we should be able to correct our mistakes.
Yet, if there is a time restriction on editing, and we only notice a mistake after the time that we can edit has passed, how can we fix the mistake?
We cant, and our mistake will be shown on the block chain for the entirety of the block chains existence.
3 ; Discovering artists after the time to vote has passed.
I understand that there is a payout system that is cyclical and automatic.
However, if someone stumbles upon a new artist and wishes to upvote their post that was written 3 months ago, and reward them with a 100 % upvote that grants them, lets say $20.00, should there not be a way to do this?
