I'm trying to figure this out and how I can best get involved and utilize SteemIt.
The way I understand it, SteemIt is a blogging platform
and a social-media site
and a cryptocurrency platform.
Like bitcoin, SteemIt might also become a digital-payment system.
For all I know, SteemIt might already be facilitating transactions.
All of that is enticing, but ...
I am used to social aspects of interacting with Facebook friends and no-holds-barred commenting on public pages. SteemIt seems to merge the two and make it more civilized and sophisticated - with the further enticement of profit. Something to appreciate and get used to.
