How I regret not being a Steemian earlier!
Hi everyone, MS aka cryptogem here.
I've been an avid supporter and investor in cryptocurrencies. So, I naturally knew about most coins, including Steem, when it launched. However, when I heard about Steem for the first time, the cryptocurrency behind Steemit, I dismissed it without giving it proper thought or research. I thought here is a blogging/curating site, which pays, unlike Reddit or Twitter.
Ok, that was a huge plus, but I thought to myself, I ‘ve never written a blog post ever, I am not on Twitter, hell! I can’t even write for nuts. I decided this was not meant for someone like me. I wasn't sure that I could write at all, let alone a blog posts. So that’s where my tryst with Steemit ended. Or so I thought. Little did I know that we were to cross paths once again.
At that time, I was researching different ways to earn money online, when I stumbled upon Steemit again. Steemit was the same old robust platform like a year ago, only this time more mature with a lot more users. The only difference, this time was that my outlook had changed. I was a lot more open and accepting to something that, I thought I couldn’t or didn’t want to do, that’s write.
So, I began my journey of writing posts a week ago. I literally did not sleep the first day I started blogging and had 36 posts to my credit, the first day itself. I never knew that I could enjoy it so much! The other huge plus is without a doubt, the money. I received my first payout and I was absolutely thrilled. Which platform pays you to express your own views so candidly like this. All social media platforms fill their own pockets and do not give us a share of the pie at all. This is where a decentralized platform like Steemit gives power in the hands of the common people, people like you and me.
I urge readers who are not on Steemit, or those who are not active yet to think twice. Give the platform a chance, give yourself a chance. It has changed my way of thinking and given me a new passion, the passion to write.
Who knows, there might be a Pulitzer prize winner hidden in you!
