On Steemit I have seen many users who are new to the platform instantly become discouraged by the amount of attention their content is receiving. My advice to these users is that you need to be patient. Seeking validation for your work from others can be a slippery slope and lead from discouragement, to depression, to just giving up. You need to do your best to avoid this progression.
As a beginner you need to focus on the quality of your content and be proud of your contribution. Create content that you are passionate about and put effort into it in such a way that it is clear you care about what you create. Some content on Steemit is very simplistic and one dimensional, as if the creator is throwing shit at a wall hoping it'll stick, and because of that you have an opportunity to stand out. Learn from others and differentiate yourself. If you do those two simple things you will be better off.
In the time you have between creating content, read others posts, comment only if you can provide quality feedback or initiate a conversation that gets others involved.
Don't simply post just to post. Put time and effort into your thoughts and you will be better for it.
