While more people sign up for steemit, more people are sharing their private memo key.
While your private memo key cannot be used to steal your funds or post/comment/upvote on your behalf it will be implemented in the future for private messaging as well as it is a bad practice to share your private keys to the public and you should change your password whenever your key gets exposed.

When transfering sbd/steem to another person and you include # in front of your memo which is the public text, not your memo key, it will encrypt it using your memo key and only you and the receiver can view what the text is.
If you are on this list you should change your password and never share your private key when transferring steem/sbd to anyone.
