Let's Begin
So you are a NEWBIE in Steemit and from what you have heard you think it's a platform where rules don't apply? Sorry you thought wrong. For humanity to progress, they must follow order but a little bit of chaos is never bad for innovation.
Order and Chaos are both side of a coin that have to always exist together. Sort of like ying and yang. This order so elegantly put isn't command, they are just guidelines that help us co-exist with each other on Steemit.
So here goes for something, firstly are you'all sign up in steemit.chat. This is to many people the ultimate place where friendship are forged way beyond the post dropping. I will cover some few chat etiquette
- Read the Chats rules before joining: Read what the chat room was formed for and do try to as much as possible to comply to it.
- Don't Over drop post: dropping links with little engagement would make the members tagged you as someone without the inkling of the chat's goal.
- Don't join a Chat Room to Spy: espionage go a stretch a way from the stalking and trolling channels. Most room are created to promote a cause so don't go there and steal their objectives
- Don't Direct Message someone with a link: Engagement is critical to human survive, it is what forge great relationships so start with a little interaction whenever you direct message an account before offering you links for support.
Note:By virtue of chat interaction i feel there shouldn't be too much clustered links in chat room since the name "chat room" but human nature is one force that can't be reckon with.
Now On the Front End of your Steemit Account
Your profile should have a display image (it mustn't necessary be you) and a witty remark for the what your blog would have to offer. Now I bet it time to let your post rain in your blog. Your stories should always have tags that really associate the content. Understanding the time most users are online can also help you so that when you post and the write-up is great, immediate support will place you in the HOT category.
Give referring links to both images and write-up that aren't yours. This can be efficiently with the use of editor rather than default markdown. If you can use the EDITOR well then you are one step closer to the best authors. Plagiarism isn't allowed on Steemit, if sources for your work aren't cited then comes in @steemcleaners as they take whatever you have earn from your post.
Whenever people comment on you post, honor them by virtue of a reply as they have taken their time to read your write-up. Also do likewise on other's post.
Learn to resteem good posts you have read because in promoting a good authors post, you also earn as a curator. The hint is this, the earlier you upvote and resteem a good post, the better you are position to earn high as a curator.
Now is time to address:- "the elephant in the room"
That was metaphorically, there is non in the steemit platform as far as i'm aware (or is it?) Just a little joke to know if you're following me (Are you?) :)
Try as much as possible not to be downvoted with your post or other people's but if any should occur, give your reasons by comment.
There are many things to learn as you are earning in the platform but rest assure, mistakes are always made and the goodness of people on steemit could come with a help of how it can or should have been done.
I AM HUMBLED TO BE HERE!!!
Follow my handle @digital-entrep and please do try and engage (UPVOTE, COMMENT, RESTEEM) my posts.
