In my previous 2 articles, we have described how to be a responsible steemian, and a thorough guide on how to be on Ass on Steemit. Today lets chat about how to organically boost your rewards.
For those of you new to the platform, there are 2 ways to earn crypto here on steemit, that is by authoring content (posts, comments) and by curating content (upvotes)
As a newbie, it can be a bit deflating to put in a tonne of effort to write a killer post and end up with only 2 votes. But trust me, don't give up there are ways to get past this. As I mentioned in my previous posts, the key to succeeding in Steemit is to ADD VALUE to the content.
How can I add value as a newbie?
The best way as a plankton, or minnow or even a dolphin is to....you guessed it BE SOCIAL!! Join in on chat rooms, a great one for minnows is the Minnow Support Project which has been set up especially to guide and nurture the newer members to be successful here on Steemit.
Also look into you're own country groups, the most prolific and awesome country group here on Steemit is of course Team Australia, but there are teams from USA, UK, India, Turkey, France etc. Get in and introduce yourself. It can be a much less intimidating way to get noticed by the Steemit Universe, and its a great way to meet other local Steemians.
The other way to add value is by commenting on other peoples posts. And by commenting i mean something useful. If you read an article on the Bitcoin Price Prediction for Dec 2017, maybe comment on WHY you agree/disagree with their prediction, or ask how they came up with that prediction. The post is just the starting point for a great conversation. Once you start commenting, the original poster will have a better understanding of who you are and possibly start following you which in turn increases the chances of getting better post rewards.
In terms of curating, honestly don't stress too much about it as a newbie. The comment will pay a much greater dividend for your time. Yes you will recieve a payout in SP if you vote for a good post, but I guarantee the original post would much prefer to see you comment on their post, and that gives you a higher chance of getting a vote on your comment that is worth much more than a tiny curation reward.
What about Bots?
Yes they exist, yes some are profitable. They are hit and miss and wont build your organic rewards at all. The only benefit of a voting bot is that it MIGHT get your post into the HOT or Trending page for about 10seconds. Save you SBD, Power it up and build your reputation through being social and commenting and you won't need to use Voting Bots no matter how attractive they are.
I hope these last few posts have been helpful, I think this is probably the last of this series unless anyone has any other suggestions on things you'd like me to cover.
