Hello to all new steemians,
Like the most of you I' m addressing with this post here, I' m just getting started with steemit. After my first post, I clearly felt the need to make some more research on doing better on steemit.
After viewing and reading a lot of content about steemit, I would like to share these 3 points of wisdom:
1. Don't do steemit for the money
Steemit is a pretty fresh community, which offers you a voice for your thoughts, creativity, views, opinions and visions. Share them with the community and try to attract some attention. Good content will always be appreciated. Put you're focus on passion and quality of content instead of monetary desires.
2. Do good quality and readable content
Before you post your lovely puppy pictures or favorite crypto story, check if your content is really good enough for the public. If even you wouldn't read your post, why should anyone else do it. Make some proof reading to avoid more and more spelling and grammar errors now and in the future. If you're writing about a topic which needs a lot of research or needs to be up to date, make sure you're following the right media (e.g. news) to provide the best possible content.
3. Share the love and passion with our community
On the one hand, reward comments on your posts with upvotes and show your appreciation for the attention given to you. Engage with your readers, try to get into a dialog with them and share and develop thoughts together. Try to follow some of their suggestions and show them that you're listening.
On the other hand, curate posts of other steemians and help them to grow. Reply and share your thoughts on posts and help them to get some traction. Upvote posts and give others some love which they will give you back someday.
These points seem to be a pretty good start and at least i will try to follow them as good as possible.
Some other minor points to getting more growth :
- headlines should pull views; questions or statements are good to start
- try to post daily, at least 3-4 times a week to stay in the focus of others
- if needed, pick 2-3 categories to develop a specific following
- use the right tags
- invest in steemit to get more power into your votes and show that you're trusting in steemit
- contests and challenges might provide some more interaction with your followers and some growth at a certain point
- at some point use upvote bots to push your best post to trending or hot category
- you can upvote yourself by the way :)
I hope i could give you all some good information to start this journey!!!
