Steemit
Oh boy! I've been on Steemit for a few days now and honestly, the concept seems quite interesting. I see people around me posting very interesting stuff, but there is one thing all the upvote beggars seem to ask themselves, where can I get money. And let me tell you... It's not from spamming someone's comment section with "follow for follow" or "upvote for upvote". This site is one big crypto mining machine that runs on witnesses and whales and all the other little elves. And don't ask me what whales or witnesses mean I don't even know yet, but as I already said the context is interesting for sure. And the creators give you a chance to post content for rewards, not go lurking in popular peoples comments looking for success. If you're lucky that can happen, but I'm sure I would never do that to keep my reputation as a respectable person who plays by the rules. It just makes me feel better about my self that I don't ask others for their time to make me a few cents, I don't want to be bothering them with my nonsense, because I know there are things that I can do by myself with out others input. I don't hate the people who ask for follows or upvotes, I just wouldn't want to be in their shoes in front of hundreds of people.
Now to the point that I wanted to get to. Is Steemit really all about money. For some reason, I think that most people like myself started the journey of Steemit just because they saw the one element of the site - that there are rewards for your posts. And it really is a great marketing idea, but the funniest thing is that it isn't marketing anything. So for on Steemit, I haven't seen any ads or anything that would ruin my viewing pleasure. The only little thing they take is a percentage from your post, but that is very understandable because you can't run a site like this for free, it's just not possible.
I know there are many people on this platform that post just for their enjoyment, but I believe the majority are here for the crypto. And I have to be honest initially that was my goal too, but soon I learned that it really is a great outlet and that it is very interesting to communicate with people around the world with the added element of rewards for those who spend their time researching things or working on things that bring many people in a discussion.
This is now my favorite social media site, just because it's different, but I don't think it should be all about money, it should be all about spending your time wisely and getting to know the world around you from everyone's perspective.
Thank you for reading!
