I remember when I joined Steemit things started to decline
It's still so clear when one person i have been knowing for a while that happened to be a blogger ALWAYS blogged in Spanish. Suddenly he made a article in English and it just happened to be on this mysterious website "Steemit". So i looked around on the website and i found it kind of funny that it said on all these posts that people were making money off their articles just like that. So i asked my friend what the hell this Steemit was all about but he actually was not sure himself, he just found out about it recently as well. I was 1 month into my bike trip at that point and it seemed too good of a opportunity not to try how i would do with blogging and sharing my stories. Back then i was not aware of the situation, i kind of just minded my own business and wrote while slowly getting dragged into the community and started being aware of the situation of Steemit.
To me the Steemit started to be a bit negative in its attitude on some aspects and as the price for steem fell it got louder and louder. Yet some people seemed to keep the believe going. I myself most admit that when steem went under 1 dollar and stayed there (when i joined it was at 2.5), i started to be a bit frightned aswel. But instead of giving in for fear i for some reason invested in steem with the money i had. I knew and could see the product had potential and so many reasons for it to find success.
I feel so lucky by the timing i joined Steemit. It was a time where the value of steem was ever declining and in some way i guess i got to feel a period where there was a lot of uncertainty in Steemit and there will probably be more periods like this? So now i know i should stick to my guns if it ever are to happen again.
Steemit taught me a valueable lesson to invest in the product even though the recognition of is has not arrived
Every time i was in doubt i tried to look around for articles here on Steemit to find reasons for why i would keep my investment. Lucky enough i found some quite popular fellows like @exyle who seemed to have the finger on the pulse of steem and steemit and it kept somehow motivating me to both invest more while the price was low. Also power up in case i would show any sign of weakness. This way i knew i wouldn't just be able to pull out investment right away(another perk of steem power i guess?)
So here we are: Steemit picking up speed and has moved into the dollar era
In matter of a few weeks we are not talking about steem moving in cents anymore, we are now looking at how much it moves in whole dollars. I see so much positivity going around and it feels like we have stepped into a great year for Steemit. Also the fact that we are still waiting to see Smart media tokens coming out is just even better, that's is gonna be quite a show!
To everyone who have stuck around even in the hard times and to many of those who just joined recently: I think it is safe to say we all have a lot to gain from Steemit in 2018. I cannot wait to see what the coming months will bring us!
