Let me explain.
My boyfriend is obsessed with Crypto. I used to be as well a long time ago but just like my food interest change my hobbies did too. So the excitement he gets when the market goes up or down, when new coins come out or just anything happens rather bad or good. I sit there listening........ and most of the time I am lost nowadays.
In Jan he came to me about Steemit. Raving about how it's going to change social media. He should have been a spokesperson the way he hyped Steem to me. After a week I fell for the pitch and began my journey here. I was excited at first but then reality hit...........
I HATE SOCIAL MEDIA.
Myspace was fun because I got to code but then my friends argue about who was number one on my list... That killed it
Facebook was fun because I could connect with anyone and everyone but then it felt like a damn Spam Board and now I just scroll thru to make sure my family is cool (Big family can't keep up with them all).
Twitter was never fun for me... hashtag this and hashtag that... the pain of trying to be clever
Instagram I kinda liked. Post a picture! Simple...
Snapchat.....COME ON That App SUCKS unless you're looking for a Hookup/Hoe or Cheating (Yea, I am looking at you)
But the thing I hate the most is you kinda need to be consistent. Something I'm just not always able to do.
Sometimes I like to experience my experience. I'm not trying to always take a picture of my salad and post #Healthylife when the next day I'm eating Korean BBQ. I don't get excited to film my once a week work out for the world to see how my form is wrong. I like to go to concerts and actually watch my concert, not thru the screen of my phone. If friends and I go out to eat I get so annoyed when they sit on their phone. Like I didn't pay $20 for food and $4 in gas to sit at the table and not talk. We could have just facetime. LOL not funny haha
and that leads to Steemit..
The pressure of having to keep making posts but make sure they all have some quality. My life isn't that interesting every day. I'm just being honest. Some days I sit in bed and sleep or I don't take pictures of whatever it is i'm doing. So then I am stuck. How can I post about doing nothing and then I have to stress and make up some bullshit Top 10 Lazy Day activities list that no one actually wants because maybe they follow me for music or something.
Also, the search function on the site sucks. The things I am interested in are either buried on the site or not here, to begin with. I follow a bunch of other women on steem but they seem to all be into fitness, crafts, crypto, and recipes. Yea, I'm more into music, hair, DIY, cartoons, fashion and how things work(technology). The hashtag system is sad because unless its a top hashtag. I can only find things by that hashtag if I can find it in someone else's post.
Let's talk about the autobots. Just Fucking WHY? For an extra couple of dollars every day. The bots that comment under everyones 1st post is annoying. We get it you hope they follow you but you have no real post. Or the Prewritten response comments. The bot just copies and paste your auto responses to certain post. "OMG Thats so Funny. I should try that sometime" but the post is about someone's cat dying.
Steemit is starting to remind me of Facebook because of all the BOT (Bought) followers, comments, and Thumbs up.
Like I understand why some people do it. Some love the money, fame, or just the feeling that someone out there feels or likes something about you but I am a Music Artist. My job is to make music rather you like me or not. So trying to use hacks, bots, or whatever other non-organic tricks to make myself seem cooler then I am is just energy I would rather use on a song.
This picture represents people who are full of themself. They are big in the head!
Steemit isn't all bad there's pros just like any other blog or social Media site but maybe I'll write those out in another post since I am going to need something to talk about in a few days anyway.
So I leave you with 3 questions.
What social Media Site do you actually like most?
What do you think should be changed to make Steemit better?
Why haven't you followed my music on Spotify or Itunes yet? (Veronica Cooper)
