If you missed it earlier, @jerrybanfield rocked Twitter this morning with @steemtipper and gave away a cool $400USD worth of tips! Whoa. You can see his post about it here.

It was a massive success and Jerry managed to dump his wallet within about 2 hours. Wow. As a long-term organizer of online parties, concerts, and events; that was impressive. And I would say that for his first time on Periscope, he kicked ass. I admire that he took action.

Now, if you're unaware, I've been planning to do the same thing since SteemTipper.com launched and I have openly been vocal about viralizing #SteemTipathon, as well as, a #SteemTipChallenge. @Simplymike has risen to the challenge and announced she'll be hosting an event on Tuesday, May 8 which I'll be in attendance of and contributing to. Get'em girl!

My pilot event is scheduled for:

The first official #SteemTipathon (under the hashtag) will be a testing stage. I don't have a full live streaming set-up anymore. In fact, I just reinvested in a few things to make the following event a bit easier and I plan to upgrade as my humble budget permits.

So anyhow, while I don't have the massive following or access to budget like Jerry, this is really something I can say is to my personal calling. I stepped on the Steemit scene with a mission to learn to write better and to start vlogging and streaming. ❤️ I've also been looking for a way (and reason) to get into the onboarding process. So the launch of SteemTipper.com was like the Law of Attraction in action — especially since the team is planning on eventually expanding onto other platforms to make off-chain Steem distribution a breeze.

Music Submissions

I'm looking for Steem Musicians who have music OFF of the blockchain (on Youtube and/or Soundcloud specifically) who would let me showcase their music on various live events going forward — including, hopefully — this Saturday. I plant to do things OFF the blockchain as well, so it will be free exposure on and off the block. Just drop a link to the music I can use in the comments. Tag any artists in the comments that might be interested.

Volunteers

After watching Jerry's tip party today, I realized I'm going to need at least 1 volunteer (or several) to moderate the event. When I saw Jerry go live today, and the number of questions and issues in the comment thread; I just put down my work and jumped in to help those users. People didn't know how to claim their tips, how to sign up on Steemit, and many had other questions like how to follow. Jerry couldn't answer the questions promptly because he was tipping at hyper-speed.

I don't plan to tip as FAST as he did nor do I have the exposure or budget to tip as MUCH this time, but what I don't want to do is leave a bunch of new Steem holders stranded!

Mostly, I just need volunteers to HANG OUT for the 2 hours, engage, and be there to steer and guide those who have been given tips. I'll have a bunch of copy/paste assets available to make it super-easy on desktop OR mobile.

Switching It Up

I am NOT doing #SteemTipathon exactly like how Jerry did it. While I applaud his effort and the generosity of the @budgets initiative, I want the official #SteemTipathon and #SteemTipChallenge to be more than about dropping tips. #SteemTipathon is an official #TwitterParty and will evolve into a multi-platform event. I want it to evolve, grow, and spread like a wild weed. And to really be there for new Steem holders to help them get onboarded, involved, followed, etc. More to come in my next post though :)
