I was thinking that Steemit has this voting system that is great for rewarding content creators. The problem is you have to constantly monitor the site in order to reward and be rewarded for curation. This is okay for browsing content, but not all content is good for this model. I think there should be a Patreon style option too where a user can pledge a certain amount of SBD monthly for some kinds of content.
The content creator specifies a particular piece of content as serial. This allows users to subscribe to a particular piece of the creator's content. Subscribers are not able to vote on that particular content but non-subscribers can. Those that do subscribe however get a portion of the author's reward, say 25%. This allows users to support creators without losing on the rewards for curation. The author gives up some of his rewards but is guaranteed some income on each post (assuming it worthy to subscribers).
So, do you think a model like this or similar should be implemented into Steemit?
