Over the past weekend, a user in our community was robbed at gun point. For privacy reasons, I will not be releasing any intimate details. The user was at home, when two armed men broke into his house and tied him up with a bag on his head. They demanded that the user transfer all of the users crypto holdings into their own wallets while keeping him masked up. This is a dangerous situation that could happen to anybody in this community. I urge you guys to take precautions when it comes to your crypto holdings.
First of all I would recommend that you guys hold your crypto currencies in many different wallets in order to prevent you from losing everything at the same time. Most robbers do not have the time to go through every single wallet. Secondly, do not boast to the people around you about your crypto holdings. This is crucial because, those who are closest to you have the most knowledge about where you would store your crypto holdings. You may not think it, but boasting about your gains only makes you a bigger target. This is seriously one of the biggest mistakes you can make, and can leave your crypto in serious jeopardy.
I hope you guys can take this story and use it to further protect yourselves. This happened to one of the most generous users in our community, and its a shame that he was targeted because of this. Remember, this can happen to anyone. There are some crazy people out there, who will do anything for money.
