Social media is a platform for mostly narcissitic people. Posting pictures of themselves or making statements to brag and bring about a feeling of admiration amongst their peers or people whom they do not know.
Has Steemit provided a platform for so called internet celebrities to monetise their narcissism?
Consistenly, the bigger players make more money as can be expected. But what about the minnows?
Is the steemit platform so fundamentally flawed that the only way minnows can compete is by having their content curated by the whales?
During my time on Steemit I have seen all sorts of elaborate schemes to redistribute Steem amongst the users. Including, steemit bots that upvote spammy content.
I don't know if Steemit aimed to create a decentralised platform. If it did, it has certainly failed.
Perhaps, the only way to make money on steemit consistently is to become one of these Internet celebrities.
