New Steemit Cover Art
A few days ago I updated my Steemit Cover Image. Although it isn't a very new feature, it is for me. I knew about it when it first came out, but I just wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it. So instead of just putting something up there, I waited and pondered. Then finally I had it. I would integrate my profile picture with my new cover image. Now for the concept.
The first thing that came to mind was of course a helmet, since the profile picture is a small circle. That immediately led me to thinking about astronauts. So I set to work on finding some nice usable images with usage rights since they are not my pictures/images. I have never been to outer space nor do I have a high powered camera/lens to take such a nice shot of the astronauts.
So for all New Steemians and minnows, remember to try to use images that give you permission to do so. I look up images in Google Images, then go to Tools and choose Labeled for Reuse or Labeled for Reuse with Modification. These pictures are now filtered and free to use. It is still good to give credit to the source even if it is Labeled for Reuse.
Cover Art 90% Done
So I finished the Cover image, and up loaded it to my profile along with the new profile as well. It looked good but there was still something missing. Then I created a post and stated that it was about 90% done, but that the concept was solid. Most comments were positive and a few mention that the contrast between the background and my Steemit stats shown was not enough, and the stats were lost in the background. I had realized this but was just eager to show my new idea for the Cover Image on my profile and also realized that it was not fully done but still up loaded.
Steem to the Moon
Then after many up votes and many comments, @captainobviou3 left his comment with a .gif to stress the message, "Steem to the Moon!" That's when I realized what I wanted to do to help finish my new Cover Art Image that was 90% finished. I would put a Moon behind those Astronauts.
So shout out and many Thanks to @captainobviou3 and everyone who has up voted, re-steemed and commented on my posts. I appreciated each and every single one of you. I might not get all of you, but I generally look out for my Steemit peeps.
