I've been reading recently that when your upvote is worth less than 0.02c you may as well not vote at all because your vote will end up turning to dust and not even count.
Then I just read before (on a post that is three months old though) that you should vote even if your vote is worth a piddling amount because they accumulate if other low voters vote too - so if, say, five low votes are given to a post they will be lumped together as one, and so then they will count.
Does anyone know if this is true?
It's one of the more irritating aspects about being a beginner here that I really want to give my uptick to good content but at the same time I feel like if I do I will be giving a false idea to someone whose payout ends up being lower than they thought it might be.
I know we're talking literal pennies but (a) people need all the encouragement they can get when they're starting out on here and (b) it's annoying that it takes so long as a beginner for your vote to even marginally count.
If tiny low votes do count when they're lumped together, that would be a far fairer way for this system to work (and is what I was pondering myself a few days ago as I was doing something mundane like wiping down a countertop or shower-daydreaming or something. This place really gets under your skin after a while, doesn't it!)
