Hi guys, I've made an update to the "invest" @tipu functionality. Basically it's gonna be less profitable than STEEM POWER delegation (by 50%) which seems more fair plus more users will be able to use it.
Invest quick overview
Just for a reminder: invest is a unique feature handled by @tipU service where you can send SBD or STEEM to @tipU and it will be treated as a STEEM POWER delegation. This gives the investor a share in @tipU profits and a daily profit payout :)
Now, @tipU does not use investments to buy STEEM POWER - instead the service uses it's own SP to generate profit for the investor.
Because the investments are not locked in SP, investors can take back their invested SBD/STEEM at any moment without any fees or commissions. In other words you can invest, for example, 5 SBD and earn daily profit thanks to it. When you want your 5 SBD back, just send 0.001 SBD to @tipU with memo: refund to receive it back.
Invest update
Previously sending, for example, 10 STEEM was treated like 10 STEEM POWER delegation. So a "liquid" investor got the same profit as someone who locked his money in STEEM POWER and delegated to @tipU.
This seemed unfair, as SP delegators risk more with their money (they can not sell their SP instantly like you can with STEEM/SBD) + if they undelegate, they have to wait 7 days for the SP to come back..
To make it more fair I've lowered the profit generated by liquid investment to 50% of the SP delegation. So if you send, for example, 10 STEEM - it will be treated as 5 STEEM POWER delegation. Of course upon refund you will still receive back 10 STEEM.
The good thing is that this should increase invest availability so more users will be able to use it :)
The update does not work backwards so current investments are not affected. Also the re-invest functionality stays as it was so 1 STEEM auto re-invested still gives 1 SP added.
How to invest
If you want to invest, send at least 0.01 SBD or 0.01 STEEM to @tipU with memo: invest
You will always receive confirmation with the investment details:
Of course you can delegate SP and invest STEEM/SBD at the same time to increase your share.
To receive your investment back, send 0.001 SBD to @tipU with memo:
- refund - refunds all investment
- refund sbd - refunds only the SBD part of the investment
- refund steem - refunds only the STEEM part of the investment
