In this post you will find informations about the @tipU subscription feature which allows you to automatically reward other steem authors :)
@tipU Deposit
Before you can use @tipU to subscribe to other users, first you need to have a @tipU deposit - this works like a bank account, where you can deposit and withdraw funds instantly, without any fees.
To make a deposit, send any amount of SBD/STEEM to @tipU with memo: deposit.
You can withdraw the deposit at any time without any fees. To do this, send 0.001 SBD/STEEM to @tipU with memo: withdraw.
You can learn more here: Detailed @tipU deposit guide.
How Does The @tipU Subscription Work
The subscription feature from @tipU allows you to automatically reward steem authors every time they make a new post. But not by upvoting, but by sending small amounts of SBD/STEEM to this author. It works kinda like automated way to send tips.
How To Subscribe
If you found a steem author that you would like to subscribe to, replay to his post with word !subscribe anywhere in the comment. Check out the example below:
The subscribed user will immediately receive the first subscription reward to his wallet :)
By default the subscription reward is 0.05 SBD. If you have only STEEM deposit, it's gonna be 0.05 STEEM.
With each new post, the subscribed user will receive 0.05 SBD/STEEM and your deposit will be decreased by this amount. @tipU does not take any fees for this feature.
If your deposit will be lower than subscription reward, the reward will no be send (no messages or errors will be displayed).
Choosing Subscription Reward
You can choose how much SBD/STEEM will be send to the subscribed user with each new post. To do this, make a comment with !subscribe X where X is the reward in SBD/STEEM. Check out the examples below:
- !subscribe 0.3 - the subscription reward will be set to 0.3 SBD/STEEM
- !subscribe 1.125 - the subscription reward will be set to 1.125 SBD/STEEM
Canceling Subscription
If you want to cancel the subscription, send 0.001 SBD/STEEM to @tipU with memo: cancel user and replace the user with the steem user name of the subscribed user. For example: cancel cardboard.
Some Final Thoughts
0.05 SBD/STEEM may not seem much but every steem author can have many subscribers - in this situation he will receive combined reward from all subscribers. The nice thing is that the subscription rewards are sent instantly after the new post has been created so there is no need to wait 7 days for post reward.
The obvious downside, when comparing to upvotes, is that you need to pay the subscription reward from your funds.
If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them in the comments!
