Hi guys, I've recently found time to do a few small updates to the voting service. Here's a quick overview :)
cool blockchain image because every post needs it
Support For All Sorts Of Links:
Previously @tipU was looking for links in the memo by checking if it contains elements like https://steemit.com, https://steempeak.com and so on but with many new steem interfaces showing up (palnet.io for example) it wasn't very efficient.
So now @tipU is just looking for @username and post link t which means that you can also send memos like this:
@eonwarped/testnet-testing-tools
And it doesn't matter to what steem interface the full url leads to. Neat.
Support For Encrypted Memos
If you don't know, when you send a memo to someone with # at the start, it's gonna be encrypted - and only you and the recipient can see the message.
We can use that to send encrypted links to @tipU if you don't want to show to anyone that you have requested upvote for this specific post.
There is one thing though - if the post link is really long, the decryption on @tipU side can fail (I think there's some limit for the size of the encrypted message) - in this case please skip the https://steemit.com part and just send the link starting with @username. It may look like this:
Hide Upvote Comment When You Upvote Someone Else
When you are requesting upvote for your own post, @tipU will not add any comment. But when you are sponsoring upvote for other steem user, the comment will be added praising your generosity ;) You can now also request not adding this comment by adding in the memo: hide after the link. Here's an example:
