- Steem becomes added to coinbase or a mainstream exchange: Anytime there is even a mention of a cryptocurrency and coinbase in the same sentence the crypto goes up 10 fold. The addition of Steem to a major exchange such as Coinbase would give investors more trust Steem allowing for more investors.
- STEEM/USD direct: To anyone who is not aware @jerrybanfield proposed a service similar to Localbitcoins but for Steem. This would ensure that money is not lost when moving from exchange to exchange. Right now the best way I found was to exchange steem is transferring it from steemit to poloniex. Exchanging it Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Litecoin on poloniex then transfer to Coinbase to finally exchange for USD into a paypal account. Such a service would make Steem more tradeable thus increasing the demand.
- A major retailer allows purchases with Steem: Probably the least likely of all of the 5 things on this post, the addition of steem by a major retailer would sky rocket the price. Picture making a post then cashing out and going directly to Amazon. Or going to G2A paying for a game with STEEM on DLive and then posting clips of it on Dtube. There can be this ecosystem which can exist without any other currency. This would render government currencies useless but let's stay away from rants.
- Exposure from some one famous: The best bet is for some famous Youtuber to move to Dtube. This is something that is already happening do to the ad limitations of Youtube towards new creators. This is already happening but someone really famous would push more users to signup resulting in an increase of price.
- Another Bitcoin Rally: Well when Grand daddy goes up everything goes up.
