If you ask this question to ten different people, you will probably get nine different answers, but it is still a very important discussion we need to have.
This is especially important for new users who don't realize that they are secluding themselves from the community by pouring all of their Steem & SBD into boosting their posts to the hot page, or god forbid the trending page.
It's basically like grabbing a megaphone and screaming to the community, "Hey I'm new, but don't mind me! I'm just trying to abuse the system!"
I'm sure many of you haven't put much time into fully grasping how Steemit works, but people aren't going to want to vote on a post that already has hundreds of votes on it.
They would get nothing from curation and they probably wouldn't want to support you're overnight success with an upvote. Maybe a flag will fly your way though!
Well ok, if I shouldn't bot vote my post to trending what should I do?
I believe the sweet spot for post promotion is between 1-5 Steem or SBD, which will should give you enough eyes on you're work and allow it to curated properly if it is actually quality!
A 50$ post that has been paid for is just granting you a false sense of success because you really aren't making that much, if any off of your investment.
Instead you should invest your time into establishing connections and joining a community. It's going to take a while, trust me. I've been here for a year and a half and barely have friends on here, but I do and that's all that matters!
What I've noticed after putting my effort into creating quality connections and content, my rewards exponentially grew!
Don't take my recent performance as any indicator because I can't be as consistent on here as I could in the past because of school, but every time I come back I am greeted with positive energy that reminds me that their is still hope that we will fix our issues and return from the ashes stronger.
Well I have to go study, so until next time, this has been a message form your friendly neighborhood #spiderblogger!
