Hi. I'm Kent, and I'm an At Home Advisor for Apple.
I work from home taking calls for iOS, Mac, and Beats Audio customers. It's very rewarding and I LOVE my job more than any other I've ever had. I'm able to go on my breaks and dinners and hang out with my family, I've got a great view of my backyard, and you wouldn't believe the amount of gas I save.
However, this post is not going to have much to do with Apple other than simply mentioning that's who I work for, because I'm more interested in talking about how I want to make Steemit my 2nd job, or "Side Hustle" (that and I'm not even allowed to talk about very much outside of work - and I'm not special enough to know anything more than what the public already knows anyway). Granted, at this stage of my involvement, not much has happened besides one of my early posts getting liked by @stephencurry, causing it to gain nearly $200. Nice grab.
I was ecstatic!
It motivated me to stick around and do my best to ramp up. I've been comparing this place to a huge train hauling an enormous amount of freight - it takes a bit to get up to speed, but once there, it's unstoppable.
I've made several posts since then, and aside from that one post I made, the pennies have only been trickling in just as with most others here.
So, just like pretty much all of us who are down low on the bottom rungs of the ladder, I'm hoping to make a post which garners some attention enough to begin pulling in some good numbers.
So why do I want to be involved with STEEMIT if I already work for such an awesome company?
Well, of course the money is motivation, but this isn't just so I can have money to spend. My wife and I have 2 1/2 year old little boy who is autistic, and my main motivation is to have money to put back for him for any needs he'll have. His mom and I are fine. Our jobs are enough to keep the bills paid, the house afloat, and food in our mouths, but he'll need it as he gets older. Even now, the funds it takes to make sure he's taken care of aren't cheap, so I've decided to give this site a chance to see if MAYBE I can get something to work out. He's the best kid in the world, and I'd be a dumb father not to do what I can to make sure he's okay.
Seeing monster trucks in real life for the first time. He had so much fun.
Needless to say, I had to put my pride away to even make this post, because I'm not one to ask for handouts, but I can't say I feel that's what this site is for. It's for creating original content, and the most original content I've ever created was him. Cheezy sappy dad talk, I know, but I can't help but love this kid with every fiber of my being, so here I am presenting our story to the STEEMIT world.
AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
Halloween 2015
Thank you all for any and all votes/comments you submit. It took quite a bit of thinking and pride side-stepping for me to even post this, so I hope I'm not crossing any lines with anyone here.
