It has been 2 months since I started here on steemit and I still have a lot of things to Learn. But here is the simple lessons that I have learned so far.
1) Follow people that are doing what you like to do. That is art, photography, ect.... Whatever your posts are about follow people that are doing the same. BTY followers do not mean more money or support. I don't really think it matters much at all other then people like to follow other people that they think are popular. Maybe someone here knows what other benefit there is but I don't see much more then that.
2) Ask questions when someone comments on your post! Not many people actually care about what you are doing when they up vote you. I know this sounds negative but it is true. They just want the $ from the up vote. So those that actually leave a comment are valuable to you. They actually care about what you are doing or something about you. So make them feel the same way about you, and engage in a conversation with them. Comment on one of their posts. Get people that will be coming back for more.
3) Use BOT's!!! I don't know any other way of getting more attention then money! People wan't to see their vote make them money. And with so many people here on steemit you need to be seen. I'm not saying that you can't make it without BOT's but it is going to be very hard. Just look at most post that make money and you will see a BOT there. I don't like it but the truth is there to be seen if you want to look at it. So use them as well to get more attention for yourself. You are not going to make much money but it will at least give you something back for your work and time. And others may see your work and start following you or up vote you as well. All huge help to your posts.
4) Try to get your post seen by helpful groups like #curie, @trufflepig, or other minnow helpers that will give you huge up votes with money. A whale would be nice to catch to but don't hold your breath on that.
5) Try to help others here on steemit. I try to give good advise on every post, message, or comment. You may not get any reward for it, but it does help the community here on steemit. We get stronger together and weaker alone.
I hope this post helped you, I wish you all great success here on steemit. Let me know what you think I should have added if I forgot something. I most likely did.
