I was practicing organ yesterday, recording a couple of organ videos, writing blog posts in my church as I felt the need to go find something to eat. Usually I have lunch at the Vilnius University cafeteria at the History department but it was closed. Then I went to another cafe which is next to my church which was also reserved for some celebration. Then I got impatient and decided to go to the restaurant...
At the the first restaurant down the street they told me that I'll need to wait a while to be served so I turned around and left to find a better luck some place else. And about 5 houses up the street in the old town I came into the restaurant "Dvaras" (Manor) which specializes in authentic Lithuanian cuisine.
The welcomed me into a cellar which even didn't have internet connection. I ordered potato pancakes with curd, put my ear piece and turned on Stephen King's narrated version of "On Writing" from Audible. Mr King told me a story in my ear about how he created Carrie, his first breakthrough horror novel. I then decided that while I wait I better start drawing.
The theme for Artstorm contest yesterday was Polar Bears. So I drew a frame in my pocket notebook, put a name and a date and started drawing a small polar bear in the middle. At first his face looked to me similar to Dietrich's but later it turned out better than I expected...
On the left side of the bear I drew Spiky and on the right - Pinky. She had her hands extended and had a tray with some food on it. Cornelius and Dietrich were fighting with each other and Betsy and Victor were biting the bear's legs. Now came the time when the characters started talking.
Since I was listening to how Stephen King wrote a horror novel, Spiky asked the bear, "Do you know how to write a horror story?" The bear answered in a way that you too would answer if somebody would ask you this out of the blue, "WTF?". But of course, Pinky wanted Spiky to be polite and offered the bear the best thing she could share - potato peals.
I hope this silliness will put a smile on your face...
