We all know that Mathematics can be a difficult subject for all, especially if it is not your child's favourite subject.
If you do not lay a good foundation for Math when your child is still young then you are bound to run into some problems later on.
Let's look at some tips to use at home to make Math as easy as you possibly can.
Association
Depending on the age of your child, this exercise works perfect for smaller children to prepare them for school. Let your child look for shapes and forms at home, inside or outside. For example, the TV is a rectangle or a square - depending on what TV you have. The couch is two rectangles put together. The plates are circles, etc. When they start to recognise shapes it will assist with attention to detail later on.
Metric System
When you are cooking or baking, let the little one help you in the kitchen to measure ingredients. You can also make a little chart for them to learn the metric system.
Playing teacher
Whatever Math your child is busy with at school, have a look at it to make sure you understand and then ask them to explain it to you. If there is anything they do not understand, explain it to them and make sure they know what is going on before learning something new and different at school.
Techno junkies
We live in an era where technology and being online has a very big influence on the lives of our children. Incorporate that on an educational level. Find games online to help your child with numbers an Mathematical instruments. Once they find Math fun, they will understand easier and actually want to learn more.
