On March 24, 2018, we from an independent group held a Steemit workshop to the Steemians residing in Lhokseumawe. Our goal is to educate new users and share insights and experiences about Steemit.
The workshop was warmly welcomed by the participants. We shared some of the topics presented by the speakers.
- @teukumukhlis, Basic Introduction of Steemit
- @jumaidafajar, Experience during being a Steemian
- @kharrazi, Blockchain and digital investment opportunities
- @pakulis, Entrepreneur and his views on Steemit
- @azirgraff, Host
- @saifuelbahrie, Chairman of the committee
I get a chance to be a speaker at the workshop. In this post, I will share what I have said in the workshop briefly (my presentation).
What is Steemit?
- Steemit is a blog. There are some coding in blogs that can also be used in Steemit.
- Steemit is a social media. Steemit also has a function as a social media where we can interact with all users of Steemit.
- Steemit is a platform that rewards its users (Steem, SBD, and Steem Power). It is rarely encountered on a similar platform.
- The conclusion is Steemit is a social networking platform and blogging based on Steem blockchain.
How do we begin?
- To get a Steemit account does not cost (free)
- Once your account is approved (the duration of approval will vary), backup your password
- Write the first post in the form of self-introduction. It's also helpful to verify your account.

Interestingly Steemit
- Post rewarded with Steem, SBD, and Steem Power. Steem and SBD can be converted into IDR (Indonesia Rupiah)
- Not just blogs, but also serves as a social media
- Unlimited creativity. We can be creative in every post
- Fluctuating investments. We can invest in Steemit by increasing Steem Power.
What is your goal to be a Steemian? (An afterthought)
- Want to contribute and cultivate talents in various fields
- Just want to get paid in every post
- Want to get both
- The conclusion is to strengthen your goals when you become a Steemian. Do not just pursue rewards in every post, but also need to improve the quality of posts.
What should be avoided in the post?
- Plagiarism
- Spam (either in comments or posts)
- Request an upvote
Tag
- The tag should match the post content
- Maximum in one post is 5 tag
- Use tags in English or popular (see in trending list)
- The first tag can not be edited, so be careful when using tags
Language
- If your post is for a global reader, then use English
- If your post is for local readers, then use Indonesian
Google English
- If you use Google translate help, then consider the good Indonesian arrangement
- Not all Indonesian vocabularies can be translated correctly by Google translate, so you must manually translate.
- Before post is shared, read back the contents of your post
Curator
- Basically, every Steemian is a curator, a user who gives curation to other posts in upvote form
- Community Curator is a curator that provides curation of posts with certain topics. If you want to get their curation, then learn their rules.
The Importance of Steem Power
- To keep the existence of the account, then let us improve Steem Power
- The more Steem Power, then any curation we will give value to other users
- Steem Power is our future investment, so let us invest in Steemit in the form of Steem Power
That was my short presentation in the workshop. The presentation I made in the form of Power Point. For you readers of Indonesia, you can download my presentation here.
