I just thought of something wise to say to a comment on one of my posts. ...But Comments Were Locked.
...So much for the "permanence of the wisdom of the net" and social media! Even Twitter/"Shitter" behaves more intelligently than this! (If you only post a few things to Twitter, such as Peter Thiel posting only one tweet about his book, "From Zero to One", it will remain there, to be commented on, in perpetuity. The dialogue thus expands and grows, and future comments are never "locked out of the thread" which can grow to any size necessary to deal with the ideas.)
Nobody HAS EVER done social media "optimally, given what is known", and Steemit still isn't that thing. So the makers will say "so quit bitching and do it yourself" OK, fair point. But having said that, another point is raised: most "nerds"(people good with numbers) are not good with "socio-cybernetics in practice." One term is now rarely adequate to describe the complex patterns we face in day-to-day life.
Social media is a great concept. But every time human primates try to do it, they fuck it all up with stupid, limited, limiting, functionality, or censorship, or both.
THERE SHOULD BE NO LIMITS.
THIS IS THE ONLY LIFE WE HAVE.
THERE IS NOTHING THAT ONE PRIMATE CAN SAY TO ANOTHER THAT SHOULD BE CENSORED, OR SILENCED, EVER, IN ANY WAY. COMMUNICATION AVOIDS VIOLENCE, TARGETS SCARCE RESOURCES, AND FORCE. OPTIMAL COMMUNICATION IS THE SUPREME TOOL FOR AVOIDING FORCE.
LET THE INFORMATION FLOW FREELY.
