I was kindly nominated for this challenge by @mweich and @theaustrianguy. So today I'm gonna tell you about my username @boddhisattva and what it means for me.

At first let me remind you of the basic rules of the challenge:
- Tell us in a post how you chose the current Steemit username you have. The story behind it.
- Tell us your real name!
- If you could change your current username, which name would you choose and why? If you have a possible usernames list, mention it!
- Use the tag #steemitnamechallenge so that the creator of the challenge can track all the posts and check them out
- Nominate 5 people for this challenge.
Well, my Steemit name is a @boddhisattva.
1.Actually it's not my usual username. I try to keep anonymity in social networks, online games and other services. Therefore, one day, I once again faced the need to come up with a new name which has nothing to do with my past and present.
As far as I remember, it was an online shooter game Warface. I was going to be a warrior.
It so happened that, shortly before that, I had read the book "The Art of Being Happy: A Guide to Life" written by His Holiness the Dalai Lama XIV. And it occurred to me to use the word bodhisattva, read in this book.

There is a definition of this term:
The Bodhisattva, literally translated as a "waking up warrior," is a person who through love and compassion has come to understand bodhichitta, a mental state characterized by a spontaneous and true desire to achieve complete enlightenment to benefit all beings.
Bodhisattva - as follows from the above definition, it is a "warrior".
And after that I became places to apply this nickname in the transcription of bodhisattva. And one of the first times I was told that such a nickname is already registered. Then I added one letter d to it. In the end, it turned out to be a "boddhisattva".
Meaning of my nickname
In general, it was possible to dwell on what is written above, because the true meaning of the word I used was not the root cause of its use.
But later, having already registered with Steemit, I repeatedly encountered different definitions of the term bodhisattva. The general orientation was certainly observed, but the depth and complexity of the definitions was significantly different. Some of them were difficult to understand on the go (I did not think of finding a book for some reason).
Here, for example, the definition of Wikipedia.

And I wanted to find a short and capacious definition so that I could answer the question, what does my nickname mean, more than the "awakening warrior" ...
And one of the successful short definitions I found was the following.
A Bodhisattva is a righteous person who has attained enlightenment, but has refused to live in nirvana for the sake of help to his neighbors.
I'm not trying to take the path of Buddhism or any other religion. But I was hooked on the Dalai Lama's main idea that, in order to be happy, it is necessary to at least just show kindness, moderation and compassion. At the same time it seems to me that regardless of religion, race, nationality and other similar concepts and qualities are very valuable and important for people. In addition, they correlate with certain scientific and pseudo-scientific views on the effectiveness and perfection of man. And if they do not contradict my beliefs and lead to happiness / enlightenment / effectiveness / ... - it's just wonderful.
So I found for myself that the nickname boddhisattva I was chosen not by chance and not that reflects me present, but is what I should strive for.
Ok, it was a first answer.
2.My real name. As I told in the first answer, I'm trying to keep anonymity. So don't ask 8)))
3.As I said above, I not only got used to this name, but even found a certain meaning in it, so now I use this name everywhere and do not plan to change it.
It should be noted that my life changed greatly after I met Steemit and until everything turned out so that I do not need another name.
4.Ok, done!
5.Now I need to nominate 5 users. I hope that those whom I will mention have not yet been nominated.
I choose the first names that come to mind by the method of Russian roulette.
And sorry if I didn't mention somebody. You are welcome to join!
So let it be: @ace108, @uadigger, @evildeathcore, @vtravels, @madlenfox.
The main thing that unites all these people for me is that they publish photos in Steemit.
