Introducing Bavaria's Finest with a Twist
Weißwurst Pretzel Sandwich
Hello fellow Steemians and sandwich enthusiasts!
Bavarian sausages is a staple in our home, and it is a constant in our breakfast rotation. This is my first time preparing this in sandwich form, and won't certainly be the last. That said, this is an original creation. With Oktoberfest just a month away, this sandwich was envisioned to bring forth the region's most famed holiday.

The core ingredients of this sandwich are pictured below:

Ingredients:
• weißwurst
• shallots
• arugula
• provolone
• sauerkraut
• dijon mustard
• 1 tbsp. of butter
• a whole lot of love, and a splash of flair
Process:
Cook the sausage on skillet/pan for about 8-10 minutes. In a separate pan melt 1 tbsp. of butter, and then add the sliced shallots. Let it caramelize on low heat. While stovetop items are cooking, cut pretzel bread without completely separating, and heat for 2-3 minutes in oven. When sausage is ready, assembly can begin. Slather dijon mustard on both sides of the pretzel. Then liberally line the insides with cheese, and add some arugula. Next, place half of caramelized onions, and a layer of sauerkraut. Finally, add the sausage. Then, put your sandwich in the oven for 5 minutes to melt the cheese and fuse all the flavors together. For the finishing touches, top it off with the remaining shallots, and a heaping spoonful of sauerkraut.
