When shame rares it ugly head
To stole away the fighting grace
While we clamber to be ahead
Only few but linger to win the race
The drizzling dew couldnt keep his blues away
Found wanting in those lossless words
Less fabled to forge the table that lies in weight
Burping in beautiful symphony yet sheepishly commiting a faux pas
Typically casting a dangling pose
Figuratively reeling away in self pity
To the delight of scoffers, they make a toast
Many thoughts abounds, few left to reason
Held ransom by the scourge of the past
He seeks the tale of a new chapter
Standing at the gates of no recompense
Searching for the last courage to muster.
Wisdom calls aloud in the streets
Tarry, oh tarry a little longer
In the hopes of staging the beauty within
Never wear the mask again, silently mimicking forever!
