We need to have a simple logo for each of the 4 lessons that we will be teaching in each city we arrive at.
So here it is. The first of the next 4 logo competitions.
The rules are just like before. One grand prize winner of $1000 in upvotes and a steembath for the rest of the contestants.
Also, most of you here have now been commissioned to give us one artwork from yourself. This is a gift from steemjet to see which artists really have what it takes to be a pro, and which just got lucky. As mentioned before, we will pay artists who build effective tools that we can use. But now you see that we not only plan on paying artists what they are worth, but we plan on retaining the best ones on staff.

Your commissioned work can be of any style, topic, medium, and can take you as long as you like to complete it. You do not need to submit your commissioned piece in the competition, but feel free to. Everyone is eligible to compete in the next 4 logo competitions.
Lesson 1 Logo Competition- Since we all can agree as humans, that time is our most valuable asset, we can measure bitcoin to be of more value than gold as our universally recognized value store because it takes us less time to learn the total number of bitcoins than it does for us to learn the total number of gold ounces in the universe.
Trust is measured in certainty, and it is this very certainty concerning the total amount of bitcoins vs the unknown amount of gold in existance that makes bitcoin better money (more certain quantity-wise) than gold.
Any kid who realizes that time is money, and that our time on earth is also finite can then build upon that knowledge and realize that only a finite item can be certain to hold its value against our personal time.
How do we know that time is our most valuable asset?
What would you rather have a zillion dollars and 2 seconds to live or a lifetime to spend $1000 steem? The moment a child grasps the concept of time, they know that life is prescious and to value time is to value life.
Those of us who are young are VERY rich because we will be here long after older people are gone. Young are very powerful because of their ability to survive long stretches of meditative time without pain. But the young have had a very dificult time finding a proxy (un-edible physical exchange item) for their time that holds value over the course of their lives.
Enter, the most universaly recognized known quantity asset (bitcoin) in the world. Bitcoin has a known quantity while the current king of the golden throne (gold) has an unknown total quantity. This puts bitcoin in an asset class that is more scarce than even gold.
So where does steem fit in?
STEEM helps bitcoin fill the nich that neither gold nor bitcoin can fill. STEEM provides free nanotransactions that neither BTC nor gold can ever service, and this is the small claim to the golden throne that steem has. The golden throne is just the job of "known quantity item agreed upon by community consensus to act as official or most common sense item for value storage for humans".
Since STEEM is a FREE CURRENCY it offers what gold and bitcoin cannot. Free transactions of any size. STEEM is not the only free currency. Many cryptocurrencies offer prices that are comparable to our "free" price tag and when bitcoin goes to segwit speeds the competition is on so that they will be directly competing with us for nanotransactions once again, because bitcoin transactions used to be nearly free, and they probably will be again.
But what STEEM must do while bitcoin is allowing us to claim some of its market share during this temporary period of insanely high transaction costs, is to distribute itself to places untouched by bitcoin to establish a counter-revolution to the bitcoin revolution. To see people like us using steem more than they use bitcoin is a way for us to counteract the first mover advantage to the golden throne that Bitcoin has, and potentially propel us to a new area of our studies where we can break down the market share of the golden throne and identify what impact on the golden throne that a pow vs pos vs constant inflation to incentivize miners vs zero inflation to preserve securely known quantities can achieve. This is pretty far down the rabbit hole, but I just wanted to show you where we are heading. We are going to attempt to show that gold has only fulfilled a subset of our requrements for money in the past and now we are going to use different assets to fulfill our diverse monetary requirements as humans.
STEEMJET has taken on the job of teaching the fact that STEEM is the first and most universally recognised FREE CURRENCY. It is not going to be easy, but will require us to continue with our hard work spreading steem globally. Anything that can help in the distribution and adoption or use of STEEM currently will help its acceptance and adoption grow.
The most widely recognized known quantity asset gives it the claim to the golden throne (the job of acting as money for humans). But historically money required a separate currency to help it move, and this is where silver got its job (to make trading tiny amounts of gold more fair and easy) and this is exactly where LTC/STEEM/NANO now serve to remove friction from the bitcoin-as-money/currency payment/trade system in the same way that silver is easier to buy your lunch with than gold is.
This is our niche. Embrace it. Learn to love it.
Adding utility like SMT will also raise the utility value of steem (Lesson 4). We will never see the market cap of steem surpass that of bitcoin, but if we can at least preserve ourmarket share as the most widely distributed nanotransferable (FREE) currency while the devs release smart media token utility on top of the currency, then our market cap will rise faster than that of bitcoin.
Will bitcoin miners lower transaction costs to squeeze us out? They most certainly will.
Fact, Litecoin just lowered their transaction fees in direct response to us and NANO who are all competing for the same nanotransaction niche. Our fears are being realized. The next shoe to drop is that bitcoin will go segwit which means that their speed goes up and the costs to send BTC transactions goes down. This is why Ned and the dev team are forced to launch SMT capability to improve our standing in Lesson 4.
And as litecoin adds atomic swaps to compete with our SMT, the competition is only going to get tougher however in Lesson 4 so don't think that our work here for steem to be regarded universally as the world's first free currency is going to be over anytime soon. This is why we pay good hot steem to talented individuals who are effective in promoting ideas and distributing steem.
We are now writing a textbook for the youth, which requires many pictures.
And now the community is free to use past images to stand on the shoulders of all the superstars artists and fuse past images with your favorite concept of time or design your own uniquely inspired interpretation. Make us feel exactly how important and valuable your time is and thats why we choose known-quantity-assets to trade our time and effort for.
Historically Gold has acted as the best "UNIVERSALLY RECOGNIZED non-edible store of value physical asset to value in exchange for your time". Gold served just as a service to humans that can and is now losing market share to a version of value that is virtual (so less robust in an earthquake), but truly finite (so more secure against counterfeit, cloning, synthesis, etc). When the electricity goes out, the value of gold plummets and the value of food rises. Gold used to hold its value no matter if the candles were lit or not, and only declined in times of war or famine, which would occur today if the lights went out, so therefore, historical conditions are similar to now. Back then gold was the fair weather (political climate) store of value and food was king during famine and war. Now, bitcoin serves the purpose of "money when we re not starving" better than anything out there.
lesson 1 - What is the crypto market (what does it serve us humans) and what is bitcoin's share of it exactly. Because time is our most valuable asset, we can measure bitcoin to be of more value than gold as universally recognized value store because it takes us less time to learn the total number of bitcoins than it does for us to learn the total number of gold ounces in the world.
Lesson 2 - Exactly what share of the crypto market is left to be serviced by altcoins? Which markets can bitcoin NOT serve, and which subsets or parts of the money/currency markets is bitcoin unable to service?
Next lessons will touch on:
Does your favorite crypto mining incentive (emmission rate/inflation) decline over time (halvings) requiring your miners to continually charge fees forever?
Do the miners of your limited asset have no other incentive to secure a node except to have the ability to accept a free and instant value exchange?
Is your asset inflating at a constant rate to ensure eternal security/utility/service?
History tells us with gold and silver that we only need one agreed upon store of value and maybe another crypto to act as silver or currency and that can solve most of our economic trading issues.
But how many different smart contract platforms do we need? It depends on the service. This is where lessons 3 and 4 go. The change in lifestyle of humans when bitcoin was first invented made a gigantic impact on our species becasue the store of value and currency businesses were highly lucrative and dominated by gold silver and debt currencies providing imeasurable utility. This is why bitcoin keeps going up As other businesses become disintermediated, our lives will change less drastically each time. This is why bitcoin is still going up at a pace faster than the competition because there is not much actual competition for a real share of the gold, silver, and currency markets. And the real competition for the golden throne is gaining only very slowly due to diminishing returns, that we must look at historical aggregates to predict future moves.
The market cap of the currency market / currency business is much larger than that of the next most-lucrative service related business that other utility coins are looking to affect. Therefore, the returns diminish and risk increases the further away from the currency markets (altcoins) you invest into.
When steem was invented, it only made an incremental benefit to the gold/silver/currency market becasue we already had bitcoin as an accepted superior limited value asset to store value absorbing much of the marketshare for crypto in that sector.
So what does steem provide that bitcoin cannot and what part of gold's market share can we take?
Steem is going to take a different percentage of market share from bitcoin as limited asset of choice than the percentage of market share that steem will take from myspace in the blogosphere/personal webpage space. And this is where we reach our current limits of understanding due to lack of insight into the STEEM roadmap.
But that's Lesson 1 in a nutshell.
So the most lucrative jobs that serve people most are going to be disintermediated by blockchains first. Then the next most high margin business follow suit (currency, sex, drugs, etc). Not all at once, but it will take time to see this develop.
Therefore, Lesson 1 is the lesson that we all know already. A common assumption for our discussion that is true in all languages and cultures. Time is money.

These concepts by jogreh show how difficult it is to superimpose so many elements into 1 image. Clock hands, plane, steem logo, feeling of motion... It's not easy to do this without crowding or obfuscating the elements.
@shuta removes the hands of the clock all together and accomplishes their purpose with a stopwatch. Good idea

Everything is elegant except the jet. The tiny minute hand and circular elements with bold color is striking. Perfect hexagon. Plenty of black space there for something to jump out. I told you that these elements would be difficult to deal with. The up close approach might be too hard to pull off which is why this next style might work better:

The clocks look like candy or toys and the colors are nice which is effective in getting the attention of a child. Lessons 2, 3, & 4 will become progressively more difficult to explain. Therefore, I like this "busy child textbook" approach that deandaniels has taken to pictoralize Lesson 1.

How early is too early to learn about money? Can kids these ages truly grasp these concepts?
Lesson 1 - Ages 5 and up - Why Own Crypto? - Time is Money (what is the crypto market and what is bitcoin's share of it?)
Lesson 2 - Age 8 - Who Owns Your Crypto? - The lemming/laziness/FOMO/peer pressure/network effect/first mover advantgage phenomenon (the altcoin share of the cryptomarket)
Lesson 3 - Age 12 - What does it cost me?
Lesson 4 - Age 16 - What else can I do with it?
Reducing the ages of comprehension of each Lesson is the next step on the roadmap to launch.
The concept of multiple clocks is mindblowing and might be what we need to teach young minds that time is money - by bobmarding their subconscious with infinite time iterations which add up to the present moment. A way to breakdown moving time is infinite moments. The shatter of fractal and infinity to trigger the inate realization that our life is temporary and we need time to live it, but how does one obtain or purchase time?
TLDR:
Since OUR time is finite, then OUR money is going to be a finite asset which we choose to store our finite work (over time) into.
