So this is not a letter in a bottle, to be tossed in the sea and then get washed up on a beach in a faraway land, hopefully by a long lost lover!
No, this is a salad in a bottle made especially for the final round of Steemit Iron Chef 2018 - Act 02 Round 14 run by the very busy @progressivechef, who now finds himself on the faraway island of Mauritius - with miles of sunny palm-soaked beaches and hungry hotel patrons waiting to be fed!
I've made a power-packed and delicious Broccoli & Fusilli Salad in a screw top bottle - super easy to take along for a super lazy day at the beach.
What went into the bottle?
Tiny Broccoli & Cauliflower florets
Little cubes of Red Bell Pepper
Finely chopped Spring Onions
Fusilli Pasta cooked al dente
Cubed Cheddar Cheese
Crispy fried Bacon
Chopped Pecan Nuts
A creamy sweetish Dressing made with Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar, Egg yolk, Salt & Pepper, Brown Sugar, Sour Cream
The longer this salad marinades and rests in the bottle, the better it gets, as the veggies & pasta soak up the delicious dressing.
Salad ingredients are simply tossed together and placed into the bottles and you're off to the beach, nothing can get easier than that!
