I've been playing Splinterlands (aka Steem Monsters) blockchain Trading Card Game for about a month now and in that time I've accumulated a small collection of Gold Foil edition cards. I have a few gold foil cards that I have borrowed from other people, mostly summoners. It was hard to get a good image of just the ones I personally own. The image above was my best effort. Just take that gold foil Divine Healer out of there (it's borrowed) and replace it with a gold foil Zintar Mortalis and then you'll know which ones I've got.

Now my dilemma is what to do with these cards. I could sell them, but when I look at the Zintar Mortalis card I see there are only 374 of them in circulation. I could probably get $8 for it fairly quickly but if I believe the game will continue to get more popular (which I do) that is going to be considered cheap for the card. On the other hand, I only use a few of these gold foil cards. The option to rent out cards for a passive income is now available, however the going rate is super cheap. At current rates it would take more than a year to earn $8 renting out the Zintar Mortalis card. Still, that's not too bad, considering I get the money and still get the card back afterwards.

Another possibility is that I could rent enough additional gold foil cards and then use them to enter the gold foil only tournaments. I don't really think I've got enough of a base to build from at this point. What would you do? I think I'll try taking a few of these that I don't use on the market for rental and see how that goes. I'll report back with my experience.
