Season II ended
...and I got my 13 (10 through @magicquokka, 3 through @sabertoothquokka) booster packs!
I did not open them yet because I promised a friend he could join me. I'm not sure I can make it till we meet again on monday...
Today's quest
Season III started with a very interesting gamemode: Super Sneak.
The new gamemode isn't the only change so far. As you can see on the image above, the fire splinter is greyed out, it's inactive! The gamemode would be completely broken otherwise, so instead of just setting the few well balanced gamemodes, they chose to inactivate OP splinters for specific ones! I think that's great in terms of variety of the battles.
For today's quest I had to win 10 ranked games with a death splinter team.
Setting up the team
I'm basically still playing with the starterpack-set, so I only have Zintar Mortalis as a summoner. Since Melee attack is so important, I would've chosen him over Jarlax the Undead anyways.
- I picked Haunted Spirit to fight at the front, with the high amount of HP and the Heal ability this monster is gold in low level matches.
- Another common card with similar stats is the Animated Corpse, which I decided to put on the last position to protect my team against sneak attacks. I could've swapped those two, but we can't forget that there's still ranged and magic damage, which, except for snipe damage, still aims at the tank.
- There were 6 mana left after these two picks, and I decided to go for as much melee damage as possible. On second position I put the Spineback Wolf. I figured the high speed would give me the needed advantage over teams with low-HP-monsters in the back.
- I used the 2 remaining mana points for the Cocatrice. This gamemode seems to be made for this card, even in higher level games I could imagine... I really hoped not to see this feathery creature on the first spot in any match though...
So in the end my team looked like this:

Fighting began...
...and it took me exactly 10 matches to complete the quest.
The oldest matches (and the only loss) you see on the screenshot were fought before season II ended.
Sure, I have been ranked down just like any other player, so it was probably a little easier to get those 10 wins...
Here are some of the matches:
As I said, low HP monsters in the back...

This one was really close. The Hydra is not to be underestimated...

It's probably not the best choice to have the healer for backing up...

End
That's it for today, I hope I could properly exlain my choices and maybe even help you improving your teambuilding skills. I am by no means a pro, but some teams turn out to be really efficient, and I'm gonna share them with you guys from time to time ;)
PS: I won another 12 fights (okay, there was 1 draw) before finally being defeated at 1017 points. But you can't stop me @mi2!
