@SteemNova is a very interesting text based game.
It have been about 4 weeks since I started my game experience.
This is my first time playing this kind of text based browser game.
I had to learn alot about the game mechanics really quickly,
sometimes the painful way,
other times the annoying way.
But most of the time, the game was pretty enjoyable.
Like everybody else I started with a One little insignidicant planet.
163 Fields in size,
I learned quickly,
My tactics have to rely on quick expansion rather than building up defence.
So I did.
Soon after,
I had couple Heavy Fighters and Light Cargo to supply my expansion effords,
and first, One, then Two Colony planets.
182 Fields, and 227 Fields respectivelly.
Now that is something one can work with.
Few days have passed and I was invited into an Alliance .
Nice, that should protect me from ambitions of people with slight edge over me.
I noticed quickly, that I've ran out of Inactive players to farm for resource.
Now only Active players remain.
That would be the first diffculty peak I experienced.
Not being discouraged, an Ally suggested, "It's good to have Cruisers as early as possible".
I checked my Tech Tree, and come to conclusion.
Boy, I can have this up and running the next day.
For a while, having 10+ Cruisers was like being the strongest kid on the block.
In relative safety, I could focus on my infrastricture.
Heavily relying on energy produced from Solar Satelites.
I built up my Mines, aswell as Shipyard, and Research Lab.
That was a cardinal mistake.
One fateful morning I log on to see,
my entire Fleet, Defence,
and of course,
all my Solar Satelites,
were turned into a Debrie Field around my planets.
My Resource were stolen and myself left with very little production.
That was a hard pill to swallow.
I'm sure that's a turning point for many players,
You either change your tactics,
or you quit the game.
I chose the first option.
I began a slow and painful process of rebuilding.
Stopped to rely on Solar Satelites,
and maintained only defence so big as to discourage smaller fleets of raiders.
A threat from players in top 10 still remained,
and occasionally I'm being raided for resource.
But that I just accepted.
It is impossible for a newbie to defend against a fleet of 60 Battleships at once.
But there are ways to have steady growth, even with constant attacks.
I learned the importance of constantly transporting resources between my planets.
I utilize Recyclers, not just on my own debris fields,
I often send them on 7 hour journies to distant star systems to pick up Metal and Crystal for me,
if the big guys like fighting so much, I might aswell profit from it.
Things are still not the brightest, I still struggle with negative Energy production on nearly every planet I own.
But as of right now,
I'm listed # 36,
I have 4 planets,
and I have begun to build my fleet of Battleships.
Will I have my revenge?
Probably not.
But maybe next time someone attacking me will have a little surprise and loses few ships.
