Question Answered:
What are your top 5 alt coins going into the bull run this year?
My favourite project is Steem.
STEEM is a coin some think is dead. It’s really not. Not even close. There is a lot of very low-quality information out there and self-appointed gurus spewing outdated or plainly false information about a lot of projects.
The most used DApp in the entire space uses the Steem blockchain. Splinterlands - Collect, Trade, Battle! is a collectible card game that makes use of the feeless and fast transactions on the Steem blockchain. There are no direct transaction fees on Steem. Transactions are paid for by purchasing Steem Power (staked STEEM) that confers Resource Credits (a unit of account for network resources that continuosly replenishes at a certain rate).
For certain technical reasons, which are the fact that Steem has a 13-week powerdown period for staked tokens (Steem Power) and the existence of a native stable coin (the Steem Backed Dollar), STEEM is more volatile than the the average altcoin with a market cap around that of STEEM.
What that means is that STEEM at the current low price is a buying opportunity for speculators. STEEM topped out at $8.57 at the end of the last bull run on January 3 2018. It’s about 21 cents right now and it spent the beginning of this winter at a round 12 cents. Its all-time low on March 2017 is 7 cents.
Splinterlands has a mobile version coming out next Monday. The new Samsung S10 that has an onboard crypto wallet comes with a DApp store through which they will be able to find Splinterlands. Unlike Ethereum, Steem will not freeze when faced with a surge of new users because transactions on Steem are cheap. Steem is a Delegated-Proof-of-Stake chain and that has undergone scaling upgrades during the last bear market.
