Hey #ssg. I missed you folks. Hard Fork 20 really threw things for a loop around here. I got so disillusioned, I took a break from steemit and made a pilgrimage to Memphis to see if The King had any words of wisdom.
Me: Elvis, this hard fork hasn't gone very well.
Elvis: I'm all shook up.
Me: Me too. And I think your sentiments echo those of most steemians. I mean, one week the site goes down for a day, then the very next week it's basically unusable for several days. Both related to the hard fork.
Elvis: All this aggravation ain't satisfactioning me.
Me: You and me both. There was a huge flaw discovered in HF20 a week before it was scheduled to go live. I thought they would probably hold off a bit so they could do some extra testing, but they went ahead with the original timeline for some reason.
Elvis: Wise men say only fools rush in.
Me: Now Elvis, that may be a bit harsh. It's easy to criticize in hindsight. I'm sure they're not fools. It does make me question their motives a bit, though. It seems like they were so amped up to get the new features live, that they forgot about all of us who have been using their system. It all seems a bit shady.
Elvis: We can't go on together with suspicious minds (suspicious minds!).
Me: You're right Elvis. HF20 is past, and the systems they put in place seem to be reaching equilibrium. Hopefully it's time to get back to TCB, as you would say. I appreciate you taking the time to give me some perspective. You're the greatest.
Elvis: Thank you. Thank you very much.
I felt better after talking to Elvis, so I looked around his house a bit. It's decorated pretty eccentrically, even for the 1970's.
Check out the silver fondue pot.
This monkey thing will haunt my nightmares for a while.
These wedding cufflinks seem worthy of #steemsilvergold.
Here's his honorary badge...
...and his real Colt .45 (model 1911, I believe). Also, that's not a silver bar in the back, but a desiccant of some sort.
It's a little hard to see, because it's under plastic, but the seatbelts of his plane are 24k gold plated.
So there you have it. Sage advice, silver, and gold from Elvis himself. Hopefully the site stays stable and we can all get back to doing what we do.
