I have had the pleasure of watching a community be built from the ground up. I have seen it struggle and I have seen it prosper. What I haven't seen is much involvement from members when hard decisions have to be made.
I never asked to be a group mod or to be intitled to any type of position with #steemsilvergold. What I have done tho is try to make the best decisions when asked. Sometimes some people do not see it as the best decisions. I have given countless hours of support and talks to try and make this community grow and be the best community on steemit. I have given with no strings attached to try and grow this group.
Some people look at me as the bad guy after the staxx fallout. I understand how some could see this But I also understand that no one other than @phelimint and @raybrockman know exactly what I gave to help this community. I have given when no one else would, again with no strings attached. Once I found out that phil was taking ownership of the account then I walked away and walked away at a lost, financially and from a friendship.
Then 5 of us pulled our shit together to help save the community, spent hours on top of hours in group chats trying to figure out a system that would prevent another staxx situation from happening again. Now some people seem to be upset from the latest group cuts and posssible cuts going forward.
Let me explain this to everyone. There where several post that came out asking for your input and very few had any input to offer. What I will tell you is this, every members receives a vote from @ssg-community. Now the problem with this is not every member post about silver or gold or any precious metals. So ask yourself why are they a member? Is it for the free upvote from @ssg-community. We had members that have over 100,000 steem power using our group to get a vote and not one time every giving us a vote. So @buggedout started polling some data, and trust me when I say the data was overwhelming. The number of members that we have that are active on steemit but not active on #steemsilvergold was overwhelming and had to be corrected. I have no hard feelings towards anyone that do post about other things besides precious metals, but I would have to ask why you are part of a #steemsilvergold group and not post about precious metals????
I had to take a step back for a couple of weeks due to some personal and family issues, this is not all on @silverstackeruk, I did find some time to chat with him about the cuts. And we talked back and forth over the past 2 weeks. The whole time during our talks, what was best for steemsilvergold was always my most important concern.
This is too much for me to keep contending with. I have several other project that I am currently involved in and still a lot of family issues to contend with as well.
I am a stacker at heart, maybe what should have happened is this, Maybe a new tag should have been created when staxx died. There seems to be a lot of people still hung up on this, and unfortunately they only know half the truth. Yes @raybrockman got a little out of line during the fall out with staxx, but I have apologized and moved on, maybe all of you should as well.
I will be in the shadows for the next week, my youngest son will get most of my attention, this will give me some time to really think about this community and decide if I can still benifit the community by being a part of it.
Best of luck to all of you, keep stacking
