Evening all.....
Well I was on the road most of this below zero day in New Jersey. With the wind chill right now it’s -15 degrees. But that didn’t stop me......
While I was out and about, I happened to come across an antique shop in the town I had an estimate in. I was very early so I decided to stop in. Not a very big shop stuff was kinda on top of each other making it very hard to browse. Then my eye caught hold of something........
In a table top curio case was a stack of silver. I couldn’t tell if they were coins or rounds from my view but I knew they were silver. I went and asked the guy if I could take a look at them. When he pulled them out my eyes opened up wide.
The stack of silver were Engelhard Prospector rounds. There were six in total. Now I need to find out what he wants for them.......
How much you asking for them? He quickly said $25 each. I said that’s the best you can do? He asked me how I was paying, I said whatever gets me the best price. Cash I can do better he replied. I went into my pocket to see what kinda funds I had on me.
Well I only had $85 on me, so I waked out with these four babies.......

One 1982, one 1984 and two 1986 Engelhard Prospector rounds. The 1982 is one that is considered higher value. Collectors look for 1982 & 1983 they have the lower mintages.
I told him that I’d be back another day for the others. He said that he had a bunch more, if I called him ahead of time he’d bring them down for me. SCORE!!!!!!!
I took his number and told him that I’d be back.
Now that’s a good day in the cold.
Thanks for stopping by......
