One of the most interesting aspects of any kind of collectible market is the "one of a kind" label. In all of the markets I can think of there is always the thrill in the hunt to locate and purchase a one of a kind or the only known. Some people believe those items are impossible to find or aquire. Personally, I believe if you have that perception then you will NEVER achieve what you believe to be impossible.
A couple years ago, I was purchasing several Engelhard silver ingots from a dealer in Australia. We had been doing business for years at that point and he showed me a few pieces he had coming in. He did not have them in hand at the time only photos to share. We agreed on a price and locked in the deal. Three days later I recieved a message from him that blew my mind. The photos he sent me were the front side of a couple Engelhard 0.5kg silver bar's. When he received the bar's in hand, he turned the bar's over and made a new discovery!!!

☝️Here is a photo of the front side of the 0.5kg Engelhard ingot. Upon further examination this ingot demonstrates unique physcial demonsions compared to the traditional variation. Those differences would never be noticed in a straight on photo.
The SILEC counterstamp has been seen on two variations of the 1KG weight class. Both variations have extremly low mintages. One of <100 and the other <50.
You NEVER know when you are right around the corner of the next big discovery. Had I not been crazy enough to reach out to people in Australia. Attempt to build strong relationships with dealers who stand by their deals. I meam this dealer could have easily said, "Sorry I wasn't expecting this bar and I'm going to keep it." Instead he said, "I will stand by our agreement as that is the kind of guy I am." I thanked him and sent him an additional $300.
** I truly enjoy the hunt that comes along with being a part of this market. You NEVER know what tomorrow may bring. Everyday is a new treasure hunt in my life. I try to keep the mindset that believing in yourself and pushing further and further will lead to great oppurtunity. **
