As we head closer to the date of Miocic vs. Cormier, we also pass more days until we see Jon Jones in the octagon again. In essence, Cormier took Jones' place in the eventual superfight, and Jones deserved to be stripped of the opportunity and his championship title.
Getting caught three times with banned substances in your system is enough to show the disregard and absolute lack of care for both the sport and its rules. The preoccupation with winning and being the greatest blurred Jon's vision of being a true to life champion.
One can not cheat and be respected in the same way they were prior.... Anderson Silva is a prime example of the greatest striker to have ever lived, the most fan friendly knockout artist with decades of entertainment for the fans, and yet his is almost mocked now in his later years...
Some careers go on far too long, and in the case of Anderson, he has been fighting forever. Nobody knows if Jon has been using his whole career, but it seems likely as now three times post USADA he has been caught. It is a shame since we don't know if the greatest mixed martial artist of all time is great because of steroids.
The fact that in the CSAC case the Jackson Winklejohn team behind Jon Jones admitted to forging his USADA protocol tests shows the ineptitude and disrespect of that whole organization. Every athlete needs to undergo procedures to understand the testing, and Jon never appeared.
It is disgusting that Jon was even allowed to compete after the second finding, and who knows what foregone conclusions the CSAC has made based on that. We may never see Jones in the octagon again, and if he was going to cheat competing, it is better this way.
