I think we should go to Mars, but I think Venus should be considered. Normal media doesn't even talk about it, but it seems like in some ways it might actually be easier. We wouldn't have to worry about dust because we can't even go to the surface. It has gravity much closer to Earth levels norms. It's so hot we have a perfect source of geothermal energy. Plus, who wouldn't wanna live in a sky city? Well...other than people that are afraid of heights...
I would like to see us go to Mars for missions and small colonies, but I think the potential issues are numerous. I'm somewhere between cautious and "Why the hell haven't we gone yet?"
