One day, all the members of the body had a meeting. They were all angry at the stomach because it had no work other than to collect food.
The hand said, "I pick things up, wash things, carry things and many more. I do work all day long, I'm not lazy like the stomach"
The leg said, "yes, hand is correct the stomach is just there to collect food. I carry all of you all day long, I take you to wherever we go. How can you move without me?"
The buttocks said, "even I bear the burden of you all whenever we are on a chair. I even have to take out the smelling waste."
The teeth said, "I work hard to smash all the things that comes into the mouth. I even have to grind bones but the stomach just take all the food after all"
The eyes said, "needless of me talking, what will you guys do without me?"
All the other members also mentioned all the work they do and unanimously agreed not to give any food to the stomach anymore.
The hand said he would not bring food up and the teeth said they'd not grind anymore.
The stomach begged but couldn't promise to do more. They didn't listen so the stomach didn't have any food for 48hrs. But then what happened?
The hand muscles and bones became weak. It couldn't do anything without feeling hurt.
The legs became shaky and was hurting at its joints.
The eyes were becoming very heavy and could only see faintly.
The teeth was lacking it's daily supplies of nutrients like calcium.
All the body members suffered. They began to beg that the stomach should receive the food that comes in. They all realized that each member of the body is very important and is essential for the whole body to thrive.
They promised not to insult the stomach again and to all work hard to provide it food.
Have you learned a lesson from this?
For instance ,not everyone in a hospital will be a doctor, some will be cleaners, others drivers yet others security guards and attendants. But they and their duties must not be looked down upon or insulted, everyone should be appreciated for his or her own level of work.
