Following what was a fantastic day! Today I am pleased to share with you the second part of the guided tours. This time performed at "GEA N ° 19" (Aerial Training Group) at the Mariscal Sucre Air Base, located in Maracay, Venezuela; Considered by many "the cradle of Venezuelan aviation"
After learning a bit about the beauty and the qualities of the famous Austrian aircraft Diamond "DA-40NG Tundra Star" and "DA-42VI Twin Star" my classmates and I, we come to know something a little out of our field, But in turn quite new and amazing for us, the Helicopter "Enstrom F-280FX Shark"
It is a version based on the Enstrom F-28, with aerodynamic improvements and with a more powerful engine of reciprocal piston type of four times and four cylinders, model Lycoming HIO-360-F1AD of 225 HP (Horsepower). Its beginning in the aeronautical world was in the year 1985, when it was able to realize its first flight. To date more than 1200 between F-28 / F-280 has been manufactured. The two are from a family of small helicopters, built by the American company Enstrom Helicopter Corporation, whose headquarters is located in Menominee, Michigan.

Particularly, has never caught my attention to be a helicopter pilot, but I was fascinated with some details, who knows? maybe someday I decide to fly a helicopter too!!

¡Un día lleno de conocimiento y Aprendizaje! (GEA N° 19 Vol – 2)

Siguiendo lo que fue este fantástico día! Hoy me complace compartir con ustedes, la segunda parte de las visitas guiadas. Esta vez realizada al ¡GEA N° 19! (Grupo de Entrenamiento Aéreo) en la Base Aérea Mariscal Sucre, ubicada en Maracay, Venezuela; Considerada por muchos “la cuna de la aviación venezolana”
Después de haber aprendido un poco sobre la belleza y las cualidades del famoso avión Austriaco Diamond “DA-40NG Tundra Star” y “DA-42VI Twin Star” mis compañeros de clase y yo, pasamos a conocer algo un poco fuera de nuestro campo, pero a su vez bastante nuevo y asombroso para nosotros, el Helicóptero “Enstrom F-280FX Shark”
Es una versión basada en el Enstrom F-28, con mejoras aerodinámicas y con un motor más potente de tipo pistón reciproco de cuatro tiempos y cuatro cilindros, modelo Lycoming HIO-360-F1AD de 225 HP (Caballos de Fuerza). Su comienzo en el mundo aeronáutico fue en el año 1985, cuando pudo realizar su primer vuelo. Hasta la fecha se ha fabricado más de 1200 F-28/F-280. Los dos son de una familia de helicópteros de poco tamaño, construidos por la compañía estadounidense Enstrom Helicopter Corporation, cuya oficina central se encuentra ubicada en Menominee, Míchigan.

Particularmente nunca me ha llamado la atención ser piloto aviador de ala rotatoria pero quede fascinado con algunos que otros detallitos, quien sabe quizás algún día decida volar helicóptero también!!

Dato Curioso*: El Motor inicialmente era de un Rolls-Royce pero posteriormente la empresa estadounidense compro la patente y lo mejoro.
