The Silver Orb
JAKE (20s) tall, rugged, he's been hiking, for weeks. He looks tired, yet excilerated by the adventure he's just undertaken. Only a few short miles from his finish line, he presses on as the hot sun beams down on him. He poses for one last selfie to document his adventure when the sky lights up, blowing out the image on his cell phone. The bright light is followed by a deafening bang, an explosion. Jake is knocked down to his knees from the shock wave and his ears are ringing from the sound. He looks back and see a smoke and fire...
Upon closer examination, Jake sees a glint of silver in the crater formed by whatever just fell from the sky. As he steps up to the rim, he beholds a small silver orb at the center of this giant crater. Its about the size of a small car. He stands at the top of the crater looking down in awe. Something happens, the orb opens. A young woman falls out of the vessel...
She was the most beautiful woman he has ever seen.
But Jake was gay, so while the woman was particularly beautiful, his mind turned to the how's and why's. He'd always liked that show X-files with the handsome Fox Mulder. Jake imagined himself as Fox's partner rather than the pretty red-head on the show... What would Fox say in this situation?
"...is this the red shoe diaries or californication..."
Jake's train of thought was interrupted when the woman approached him, speaking softly in an alien tongue.
Though he couldn't understand what she was saying the sounds felt strangely familiar.
"We have been watching your species for a long while. Now we are here to show you the secrets of our technology and knowledge", she says to Jake. She attempts to hand him the silver sphere, but...
