Music...
Music! It provides a strange power to those who hear it! Energizing us to the very core, our very soul scream and sings along, our being is shaken from his roots ascending to new heights! It awakens a deep feeling in our core…but where did it all start?
It has been with us since the begging, the first music we heard was the melody coming from our mother’s heart when we were in her womb. Boom.boom……boom.boom……boom.boom, every beating providing us blood so we could survive, every beating assuring us that we were alive, every beating making us closer to being born!
But the heartbeat didn’t stop there…
Shhhh… be quiet, listen… you hear that? Yes! That’s your own heartbeat, it’s still there…boom.boom…boom.boom… working in the shadows. Keeping you alive, one minute at a time, each day, every day! When will it stop? When you die! But wait a minute… let’s not skip right to the end!
Each second you are growing, your bones are destroying and creating themselves since you are born, even that has its own music… the melody of growing up. Your bones growing bigger and stronger, the osteoclasts and osteoblasts working on your bones, rearranging the calcium, adding some and removing some, every day!
STOP… Now breath! Did you hear that? That’s the music of your lungs, even those have their own music, sometimes louder, sometimes quieter, sometimes slower, sometimes quicker, sometimes they can be clogged, and the music intensifies… each breath ensuring you that you are alive! In and out, in and out, in and out the air goes! Each breath making you closer to your uneventful death!
Your stomach is complaining! Why did you not eat something before reading this!? He needs food to create his own harmonious music! Without it, he can only complain! Go eat!
Nom…nom..nommm… that’s a really good music you are making, the music of eating! Each bite makes a sound! And, with each bite, your salivary glands spit out some saliva into your mouth! They are singing together! Even the saliva has is own music, deteriorating the small bonds the carbohydrates have! And then you swallow!
The food runs down your esophagus bashing to the walls! And arrives at the stomach… from here to the end each body part adds a tune to the digestion music! We have stomach glands producing their acidic tunes, deteriorating the food so it can be absorbed! We have the bile-producing their own tunes to split apart the fatty components that you eat, each step of the way your organs add a tune to the digestion music! All this to keep you alive! To keep all the melody and music that are part of you going on!
Wait… is the digestion song over? Ohhh no… you then run to the bathroom to end it… but let’s not talk about that part, we all know how that music goes! A couple of grunts followed by a plock and a kiss of Poseidon! Unless you are a girl! If you are a girl this doesn’t happen, the music of digestion ends with magic and unicorns!
Your hair, your nails, your eyelids, your eyes, your brain, walking, moving, your joints, your glands, your cells, your molecules, your atoms! They all have their own music! Their own melody! They keep you alive! They keep you going on! Your parents gave you all this!
But where does it all end?
It ends with the music of death…
Even death has its own music! Your cells stop having blood supply… they starve! The nucleus of the cell deteriorates, your blood clots, your body temperature decreases each minute, your body suffers spasms for hours after dying… it’s all ending… your own bacteria that have kept you alive all these years are going to eat you from the inside out, your own body destroys itself! Your own body splits you up into little tiny pieces so you can feed another being, so you can go back to the earth… all this has its own music, its own tunes!
As you can see the world is full of music, you are full of music, music provides you power, music can trigger deep emotions deep down! When I write I always listen to music! It makes my writing better, it makes my writing more emotional, which is something that it’s always good! Those emotions can go from anger, sadness, happiness, fear, shame, kindness, pity, envy, love, indignation, surprise… all these emotions culminate into a text, sometimes better, sometimes worse, sometimes full of anger, sometimes full of indignation, it really depends on the music I’m listening and how my day went… Music is part of us…
WE ARE MUSIC!
