You've had to have seen that word scroll across your television at least a few hundred or even thousand times recently, if you watch any MSM programming. Or you've heard it said equally as many times, I know I have, and the only MSM programming I see is when I'm at my restaurant working. There's no sound on any of the 30 some TV's we have, but I can read subtitles and written out headlines.
So, what does systemic racism mean??? I was recently told by my own sister that I am racist. She is also racist, so she says. Because we don't have dark skin, we will never know how they feel, and because we have made a joke in the past, or made judgments prematurely, we are inherently racist.
What doesn't make sense to me is that I attributed those same character flaws to a black person, and she said black people can't be racist. They can be prejudice, but not racist. This is the double meaning shit that Orwell was talking about in 1984, one definition for them and a different definition for you.
I definitely do not consider myself racist, so to hear her say this absolutely blew my mind. I also don't think my sister is racist, even though she currently believes so. So why does she think this way?
Systemic simply means the system in place is the cause for whatever follows the word. In this scenario, the MSM is saying that the system we live in here in the USA, is racist by way of laws, regulations, and rules. Would you be amiss if I said I would agree with that assertion??? Don't be.
This country (like a LOT of countries before) was help built on the backs of slaves. These slaves happened to be black. In the past, certain slaves were white. Some were Asian, others Indian, any there were many others. Slavery has existed for thousands of years and the slave owners did not care what color their slaves were, as long as they were obedient and did as they were told.
My loving and caring sister has clearly fallen into the left's trap of white guilt. It's a terrible shame. While no one should be proud of something they had nothing to do with, such as "I'm a PROUD American!", or "I'm a PROUD Italian!", the same goes for not feeling bad or guilty about the pigment of your skin. You had absolutely no say in the matter. None. Not your skin color, hair color, eye color, or the geographical location of the land to which your mother birthed you on. You can only be proud of things you personally have done, and you should be, granted they are things to be proud of.
My sister read me quite a lengthy excerpt from a book she was reading which she hoped would help me see her perspective. In fact, it did, but not the way she was seeing it.
You see, I agree that the US government has made it difficult for black people to achieve mass success in this country.
-Slavery was legal
-Jim Crow laws were just that, laws against black people
-Voting rights. Government not allowing blacks to vote.
-Plessy vs. Ferguson
And many other legislations which hindered black peoples chances of success. Not to mention terrible and atrocious ideas and concepts like the Tuskegee experiments. I could go on and on....but the point is this....
My sister thinks this is a human problem, a human issue. When it is absolutely not.
It IS a systemic issue, in that government (the system we are living in) is the one making it difficult for the black community to do as well as they could. (not to mention all the other ridiculous laws and regs on the books prohibiting everyone from their ultimate possible success, but I'm trying to stay on topic.)
I don't care if Joe Blow doesn't like black people, that's his choice and it doesn't effect me. If he runs a business, I can decide not to shop there and I would assume most others would do the same because being an outright racist know to the general public is usually a bad look, unless of course your whole community is racist, but that tends not to be the case.
But when government is racist, it effects everyone. White, black, yellow, green, orange, tan, purple, etc...
When the SYSTEM, which decrees law & order, makes racism legal, there is no opt-out available. You can't say, "I just won't shop there." You are bound by the laws of your unjust system.
So while my sisters heart is in the right place, she is misapplying her beliefs negatively towards herself and other white people, simply based on their skin color, because of what government has done in the past.
Collectivism is a really scary idea and thought. Lumping a bunch of people into groups and claiming that all of them are X or Y, is a dangerous idea. One that had led to mass killings in the past, and will for sure continue to do so in the future.
Individualism is the idea the each man/woman is their own, and only their words/actions can be theirs.
Stop speaking on behalf of people. I speak for myself, and myself only.
I sent her this video of Eric July speaking on the topic. I hoped she would listen with open ears considering Eric is a black man speaking against her ideas. Give it a watch and let me know what you think.

"Racism, without Statism, is just a bad idea."
Thanks for reading and Hive on.
