After the successful cultivation of vegetables in the floating method, the Department of Agricultural Extension is working with the new technology for grass farming to reduce the food crisis in Haor region.
Agriculture information officer Mohammad Golam Mawla said on Monday that the Haor area was submerged in the rainy season in the rainy season. As a result, the food crisis constitutes extreme size. Farmers are forced to sell cattle at cheap prices due to food crisis. They face financial losses in financially. So the Agriculture Department is advised to cultivate hybrid napiara grass in the floors of the house and the floating water in haor water. This will save livestock from food crisis during times of crisis.
For the expansion of this technology, Agriculture Department has set up grass farming exhibition floating in Barakia area near Dingipota haor in Mohganj upazila of Netrokona. Local farmers are being encouraged about the new technology. In this method, farmers will be financially benefited if the grass cultivation is expanded.
