Heaven and earth cannot achieve everything;
The sage is not capable of everything;
None of the myriad things can be used for everything.
It is the office of heaven to beget and to shelter,
The office of earth to shape and to support,
The office of the sage to teach and reform,
The office of each thing to perform its function.
